Rounding Discounted Prices
Regios Discounts lets you control how discounted prices round, both in your store's currency and in the currencies of other markets.
Use Cases
- Giving customers the full percentage off (for example, exactly 20% off instead of a cent less)
- Ending every sale price in .95 or .99, or rounding to the nearest 0.05, 0.10 or whole number
- Showing clean, whole-number prices to customers who pay in another currency
- Keeping product page prices and checkout prices exactly the same
Where to find it
Open a product discount, then in the Apply discount step click Show next to Advanced options. Rounding only applies to product discounts.

Round discounted price in your store's currency
Applies when the customer pays in your store's currency.
For percentage discounts:
- Round UP to the nearest cent (Shopify default): Shopify rounds a percentage discount down to the cent, so the price can be a cent higher than the exact percentage. Example: 20% off $51.99 checks out at $41.60.
- Round DOWN to the nearest cent (full percentage off): the customer gets the full percentage. 20% off $51.99 checks out at $41.59.
- Round to the nearest cent: the price goes to the closer cent.
- Round to a custom increment: pick a Direction (Down, Up or Nearest) and an Increment, such as 0.05, 0.10 or 1. Example: 30% off €35.95, rounded down to 0.10, checks out at €25.10.
Fixed amount and fixed price discounts are already exact cents, so they offer Do not round or Round to a custom increment.
Round discounted price in other currencies
Applies when Shopify converts prices into the customer's local currency. Converted prices often have decimals, for example $12.34 instead of $12.00. Choose how the final discounted price is calculated:
- Round UP to the nearest whole number (maximizes revenue):
$12.34becomes$13.00. - Round DOWN to the nearest whole number:
$12.34becomes$12.00. - Round to the nearest whole number:
$12.34becomes$12.00, while$34.56becomes$35.00. - Do not round: customers may see prices with decimal places.
Things to keep in mind
- Rounding applies to each item's price, the same way Shopify applies percentage discounts.
- Your product pages, volume pricing table and checkout all show the same rounded price.
- Rounding never raises a price above its price before the discount.
- If you set a Maximum discount amount and the cap is reached, the capped amount is used as is.
- For "Only apply discount once per order" fixed amount and fixed price discounts, the custom increment rounds the discounted total of the eligible items.
For the discount types these settings apply to, see Discount Value Options.
