Unique Discount Codes in Shopify

Shopify requires every active discount code and discount title in your store to be unique. If you submit a duplicate, Shopify rejects it outright.

Our app handles this for you:

• If you enter an in-use title or code, we warn you and link to the existing discount so you can decide what to do.
• If you continue anyway, we automatically append a short numeric suffix (e.g. WELCOME → WELCOME2) so Shopify accepts the save. There's no separator — just digits.

If you see a code or title ending in extra digits, that means another discount in the store already owns the original. Find it in your Shopify discounts list, then rename / delete it (or keep the suffixed version) — whichever fits.
