Retail Location Discounts

Our app gives you the ability to create discounts based on whether the customer is shopping at the Point of Sale.

Due to the Shopify Functions Input Query Complexity Limitation, retail location conditions had to be put in their own separate discount type, rather than being available in other discount types. Also, due to this limitation, several features that are available in other discount types are not available in retail location discounts (though you can submit a feature request).

• Creating POS-only discounts
• Creating discounts only for certain retail stores
• Creating discounts that apply on all sales channels besides POS

How to create retail location discounts

To create a new retail location discount:

1. On the home screen of the app, click "Create discount."
2. Scroll down to "Advanced discount types."
3. Click "Retail location."

Include/exclude retail locations condition

This is a special type of discount condition that only exists in retail location discounts. It allows you to make which location the customer is shopping at part of the logic.

Options:

• Include or exclude retail locations: Determine whether to choose eligible locations, or to specify ineligible locations.
• Retail location eligibility: Select either "All retail locations," or "Specific retail locations."

Examples

POS-only discounts

To create a discount that only applies on the POS (but not Online Store or other sales channels), follow these steps:

1. Add an "Include/exclude retail locations" condition.
2. Set "Include or exclude retail locations" to "Include these retail locations."
3. Set "Retail location eligibility" to "All retail locations."

Discount for only specific retail locations

To create a discount that only applies at specific POS store locations (but not Online Store or other sales channels), follow these steps:

1. Add an "Include/exclude retail locations" condition.
2. Set "Include or exclude retail locations" to "Include these retail locations."
3. Set "Retail location eligibility" to "Specific retail locations."
4. Select the locations you want the discount to be redeemable at.

Discount only when not shopping on POS

To create a discount that applies on all sales channels besides POS, (such as Online Store or other sales channels), follow these steps:

1. Add an "Include/exclude retail locations" condition.
2. Set "Include or exclude retail locations" to "Exclude these retail locations."
3. Set "Retail location eligibility" to "All retail locations."
