DOPP Version History

Our Discounts on Product Page (DOPP) feature has multiple versions. This article states the differences and helps you determine which version you're on.

Why are there multiple versions?

Simply put - as our team learned more about Shopify and saw more stores' setups, we made changes to either add more functionality or to simplify setup.

Versions

• DOPP v1: Our first version. Totally Liquid based, but it has major limitations.
• DOPP v2: Enabled the app to display discounts on collection pages, search pages, and more, but it had a complex setup requiring manually adding app blocks to every template. Required a move to JavaScript.
• DOPP v3: All the benefits of DOPP v2, but it doesn't require any app blocks (only 1 app embed). Settings are detected automatically, and you can edit them directly in our app.

Which version am I on?

• You're on DOPP v3 If you have the new "Display Discounts" embed enabled.
• You're on DOPP v2 If you have the legacy "Discounts Embed" embed enabled, or the "Collection Page Discount," "Product Page Discount," "Recommendations Discount," or "Search Page Discount app block(s) enabled.
• You're on DOPP v1 if you are using the "[DEPRECATED] Legacy Discounted Price" app block, AND have neither the "Display Discounts" nor the "[DEPRECATED] Legacy Discounts Embed" app embed(s) enabled.
