Displaying Strikethroughs for Discount Codes

Regios Discounts can display strikethrough prices on your product pages for manual discount codes, not just automatic discounts. When a customer applies a discount code, for example from an email, a social post, or a discount link, your product pages will show the original price crossed out next to the discounted price, so customers see their savings before they reach checkout.

Common use cases:

• Show discounted prices on product pages when a customer applies a discount code
• Display strikethrough pricing for discount codes without creating an automatic discount
• Let customers see code discounts on the product page before checkout

How It Works

When a customer applies a discount code created in Regios Discounts, the app checks the code and updates product page prices to show the strikethrough. A few things to know:

• The code must be applied to the customer's cart. Codes from discount links and emails apply automatically when the customer clicks them.
• Only codes created with Regios Discounts display strikethroughs. Codes from other apps, or codes created directly in Shopify without Regios, are not affected.
• The discount must be a product discount. Shipping and order discounts do not change product prices.

How to Enable It

1. Open Regios Discounts and go to the Add to theme page.
2. Find the Strikethrough for manual discount codes card.
3. Click Enable.
4. If prompted, approve the write_app_proxy permission. This feature relies on Shopify's app proxy, so it cannot work until the permission is granted.
5. That's it. The badge on the card will show On.

You can turn the feature off at any time by clicking Disable on the same card.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don't see this option in the app. Why?

This feature is included on all current plans, as well as the legacy Premium and Ultimate plans. It is not available on older legacy plans. If you don't see the Strikethrough for manual discount codes card on the Add to theme page, your plan does not include it. Upgrade your plan to get access.

Stores that enabled this feature before plan restrictions were introduced keep their access.

I enabled it, but no strikethrough appears. What should I check?

• Make sure the discount code is actually applied to the cart. Try applying it via a discount link.
• Confirm the code was created in Regios Discounts and is a product discount.
• Confirm you granted the write_app_proxy permission. If it is missing, the Add to theme page shows an "App proxy permission required" card.
• Make sure the Regios Discounts theme embed is set up on your published theme.

Will this slow down my store?

The app only checks for discount codes when a code is applied to the cart. Visitors without a code are unaffected. When a code is present, there is a brief check on page load to make sure the prices shown are accurate.
