Why Discount Usage Counts Might Be Incorrect

You might notice that the "used" count for your discount codes doesn't always update immediately or at all after a customer redeems a code. This can be confusing, especially when you're trying to verify that single-use codes are working correctly.

This is a Shopify API limitation, not a Regios issue

The usage count displayed in your Shopify admin comes directly from Shopify's API via the asyncUsageCount field on the DiscountRedeemCode object. Regios does not manage or control this count Shopify calculates it internally.

Because this field is updated asynchronously by Shopify, there can be delays before it reflects recent redemptions. In some cases, individual codes may not show updated counts even though the parent discount's total usage is tracked correctly.

What you can do

If you need to verify that a code was used, check the order directly in your Shopify admin. The discount code applied to an order will appear in the order details, which is the most reliable way to confirm redemption.

We're working on our own analytics

We have an analytics feature in progress that will give you more visibility into discount performance directly within Regios. However, due to limitations in the Shopify API, implementing this requires us to calculate every possible discount and compare them to what actually applied on each order which is complex and will take time.

You can follow our progress and vote for this feature here: Analytics Feature Request
