Use the "Recurring payments for subscriptions" settings to control how the discount applies on subscription orders. We intentionally used the same options as Shopify does.

Options

Limit discount to the first payment: No recurring payments will receive a discount; only the first order.
Limit discount to multiple recurring payments: The first order, and a finite number of recurring payments will receive the discount. The number you enter includes the first order. For example, if you enter 3, then the first order and 2 subsequent payments will be discounted.
Discount applies to all recurring payments: The first order and all recurring payments will receive the discount.
