Maximum Discount Uses Setting

Usage Limits

The "Maximum discount uses" settings let you control how many times a discount can be redeemed. These options are only available for discount codes — automatic discounts do not support usage limits directly.

Limit number of times this discount can be used in total

This setting caps how many times a discount code can be used store-wide. When you check this option, an input field appears where you specify the maximum number of uses.

For example, if you have one code and set the limit to 100, that code can be redeemed 100 times total across all customers. After 100 uses, the code stops working.

If you have multiple codes within the same discount rule, this limit applies to each code individually. So if you have 10 codes and set the limit to 100, each of those 10 codes can be used up to 100 times — for a combined maximum of 1,000 total redemptions.

Limit to one use per customer

This setting restricts each customer to using the discount code only once. Even if the code is still valid and under the total usage limit, a customer who has already used it won't be able to use it again.

What about automatic discounts?

Automatic discounts do not support these usage limits natively. If you need to limit an automatic discount to one use per customer, you can use Shopify Flow to tag customers after they've used the discount, then add a condition in Regios to exclude customers with that tag.
