AI Discount Generator

In order to simplify discount setup, we've integrated our app with OpenAI to allow you simply type in a description of the discount you want to create, and have it generated automatically.

Step 1: Enter a Prompt

Head to the home screen of the app.
Find the "What type of discount would you like to create?" card.
Enter a description of the discount you'd like. Examples: "10% off first order," "20% off bikes collection for customers tagged member"
Click the "Generate" button and wait a few seconds. You will see a discount logic flow get created.

Step 2: Fine-tune Your Prompt

Though AI is pretty smart, it might not always understand your intention on the first try. We recommend modifying your prompt and re-generating a few times, so that you can get exactly what you want. For example, you might have started with "10% off first order," but then realized you wanted to limit the discount to specific collections, so you could change to "10% off first order, only on the shoes collection."

Step 3: Link Resources

If your discount logic applies to specific products, variants, collections, or other resources from your store, before finalizing the discount, you'll have to tell our app about them. The OpenAI API doesn't know about the actual products in your store, so the app will prompt you so that it can use the correct IDs.

You'll see a "Missing resources - This discount references some resources that need to be linked to real products, collections, or variants. Please select the real resources below." alert. In order to get rid of this, link each resource the app prompts you for.



Once you've linked each resource, you can proceed to the final step.

Step 4: Finalize Discount

Once you're happy with the auto-generated discount logic, you can either:
Use this discount: Clicking this will take you to the discount create/edit page, where you can apply other settings, such as start date/end date and combinations.
Export logic to a file: Do this if you want to share the logic with your team or want to overwrite an existing discount with this (by clicking the "Logic > Import" button when editing the existing discount).
