# How to Change Discount Method

Did you accidentally create the wrong type of discount? No problem -- we'll guide you through it.

## Procedure

* If you created a discount code but wanted an automatic discount (or vice versa), start by renaming your existing discount.
* Add a suffix like 'old' to the name.
* Save the changes.

* Click on the 'Duplicate' option for the renamed discount.
* Change the name of the duplicated discount from 'copy of discount' to your desired name.

* Select the appropriate discount method (either 'code' or 'automatic') for the new discount.
* Save the new discount.

* Locate the old discount (the one you renamed).
* Delete it to avoid confusion.
