# Configuration Size Meter

Shopify has set restrictions on how much data you can store in a discount. In order to prevent you from getting caught by surprise, we've added a helpful progress bar to the app to let you know how close you are to the limit.

## Does this limit depend on my plan?
No. This limit applies to all plans, as it's a **limit set by Shopify themselves, not us**.

## What happens when I hit the limit?
Once you hit the limit, you'll see this error message when you try to save your discount: 
[Your Discount Configuration Is Too Big Error](/en/article/your-discount-configuration-is-too-big-error-yzh46f/)

At this point, you'll have to either optimize your discount logic, or split it up across multiple discounts. Please read that article for guidance on how to work around this limitation.
